About Ray Mena / Productions.

Why I Am Building This.

The inspiration for this directory was born directly from the work I performed in early 2026, when I produced and edited over 16 hours of in-depth, non-partisan, long-form interviews with all eight candidates for the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors. Throughout these conversations, it became undeniable that every single candidate prioritized the same urgent message: the future of our county hinges on the strength and vitality of our local businesses.

I recognized that web infrastructure is highly technical and difficult for most people, including business owners, to manage effectively. This was explicitly identified as a real need in our community, which relies heavily on tourist dollars yet faces a shrinking population, approaching a 2% decline as people leave to find opportunity elsewhere. I decided to act on that consensus and my own technical expertise to bridge this gap. By investing my own time and money into this endeavor, I have built the infrastructure and laid the necessary pieces in place. The foundation is set; what our community does with it is now in your hands. I am asking for your support to keep this project moving forward, not by seeking funding, but by utilizing it, making this your local home on the internet.

To put the scale of this effort in perspective, for every two hour episode, I invest three hours in post production and editing, plus another two hours for marketing and content distribution. My initial research phase alone accounted for over 80 hours of deep diving. I did not have to pan for gold, the information was already there, waiting. I did not have to hunt for insight; the business owners and community leaders who possess the real, insider knowledge of our economy openly shared it. These 80 hours represent a consolidation of those candid, expert level conversations into a singular, high fidelity resource.

By limiting this platform exclusively to our county, I am removing the noise and the difficulty of finding local services, providing businesses with the tools they need to stand out. This creates a streamlined experience that allows registered users to leave reviews and connect directly with the businesses that power our region.

I built this directory as a direct response to that need, a local first, business first digital backbone that proves our community is defined by its people. This project is my commitment to demonstrating that the kind of hands on, high fidelity entrepreneurship I have spent my 30 year career refining is exactly what our region needs to move forward. By creating this platform, I am building the infrastructure that our local economy deserves. My goal is to provide a reliable, archival quality resource that allows the community to thrive, proving that we can foster local growth through intentional, high fidelity projects rather than transient, low effort solutions.
